One of the most frustrating elements of selling a property is having it on the market, and yet not having any viewers through the door. There are a number of ways in which you can try to tempt more people to come to view your property, in the hope that they will want to buy it, and it is important to do whatever it takes to make this happen if you truly do want to move on and head to your next home. Here are some examples of what you can do to attract viewers to your home.

Choose A Good Realtor

One of the most important points to consider when having people come to see your home when you are trying to sell it is to have a good realtor on hand. Having a professional realtor to sell your home will give you many benefits over a property that doesn’t have such a great realtor on board.

Firstly, they will value the property correctly. This is hugely important, as if your home is not valued correctly people won’t come to see it; it will be over budget for the size of the property, and those who can afford it will probably need a larger house.

Next, they will ensure that there are house plans on hand for people to see. House plans are important as they allow people to see the exact size and layout of the property before they come to view it. Letting people see these plans ensures that they already know that the property is right for them, and they just need to see it to verify this. Tidy Up

No matter how lovely your property is, if the person sees photos of it and it just doesn’t look clean and tidy, they will be put off from coming to see it. What people want—as you might know yourself if you are looking for a new home—is to be able to move right in and not have to do any work right away. If the house is messy and untidy, it will be hard for them to determine whether this is the case, and they might choose a different house over yours, or they might not even come to view it.

De-clutter by removing all the unused and unneeded items in your home. You can simply box them up and put them into storage if that is a better option for you (after all, you’ll need to pack everything away when you move, anyway), or you can sell them or put them in the trash. Whatever you do, the fewer items there are in your home, the better. If you can remove everything and move into a family member’s home while you are selling then that’s even better—an empty home is much more appealing to a potential buyer.

Carry Out Small Repairs

If there are small jobs that need to be done around the home, such as re-painting a room, or fixing a doorknob or a leaking tap, then do these. Although this won’t immediately attract people through the door, once they are inside they will see that nothing needs to be repaired.

If you want to truly set your intentions to move home then you can do larger jobs; changing the kitchen and bathroom are popular choices.
