Hanging curtains

In the first step, you must hang curtains in the kitchen window. It is also really easy and after selecting the curtain type and rod style, follow the steps below.

Take measurements

After selecting the rod and the curtain, style takes measurements on the wall and determines how high you want to hang the curtains. If you want to make your window look larger, hang the curtains above and avoid framing them tightly.

If you want your Windows to appear bigger, then extend the line at least four inches from the Windows edges.

Installing Rod Brackets

In the second step, knock on each line you draw to check if the wall sounds solid. If the wall appears hollow, you must first install anchors.

Punching holes

Once you’re satisfied with the measurements, punch a hole In The Wall. The smaller the hole, the better the results will be. If you don’t want to make holes in your wall, then you can use adhesive hooks but make sure that the hooks are strong enough to support the curtain.

Mounting brackets

If you have used anchors, place the bracket on them; otherwise, hold them against the holes punched earlier with the help of tape and temporarily attached each bracket to the holes. You don’t need to use the tape if someone holds the bracket for you.

Attaching brackets

After appropriately placing the bracket, screw the bracket on the wall and remove the tape. Now to test whether the brackets are attached appropriately or not, hang the rod on them and see if the road is straight or tilted; if it is accurate, move to the next step of hanging curtains.

Add Curtains

In the last step, add the curtains on the rod and hang them on the bracket. It is always easy to thread the curtain in the road first and then hang it. There are two types of brackets, one in which you thread the rod, and in the other, you place the rod.

Adding Valance

After hanging the curtain, the second step is adding valance. In the first step, you have to select the type of valance, and after that, you can follow the steps below.

Taking Measurements

If you have already installed the curtain, then there is no need to take measurements of the curtain; otherwise, measure the curtain brackets and rod first.

With the help of a Red pen, mark the measurements for the curtain so that you can distinguish it from the valance measurements.

Also, keep one thing in mind: if your curtain brackets are 3 inches, then the valance brackets will be double in length, meaning they will be six inches long. Another thing you must consider before marking is that the center of the road must coincide with the center of the window.

Marking the wall

After taking initial measurements, mark the location of the first valance bracket with the help of a Black  Or blue pen so you don’t confuse it with the marking of the curtain.

Mark about 1 inch away from the curtain road marking for both valance brackets. The length between the two markings must be the size of the valance you are using.

Installation of Valance Brackets

Step 1

In the first step, if you still need to install the curtain road brackets, then first install them. With the help of a drill, make a hole in the wall and install the bracket. Repeat the same procedure on the opposite side. If you have already installed the curtains with the help of the procedure given above, you can skip this step.

Step 2

You can use adhesive brackets to install curtains, but it is recommended not to use them because they may become loose with time.

Use a powered drill to screw the bracket into the wall. Make sure to line the bracket with the marking on the wall; otherwise, the Valance may look tilted.

Unlike curtain brackets, valance brackets are fitted with the help of screws and not nails, so you will need a power drill to screw them properly.

Step 3

In the last step, when you are done with the installation of both the brackets, then with the help of the level, make sure that the road is not tilted and is in perfect symmetry with the curtain rods.

Hanging the valance

Step 1

After installing the brackets, slide the valance into the rod, hold the rod in one hand and then slide the valance. The valance must hang flat.

Step 2

In the second step, ensure that the valance is hanging outside the curtain and that the brackets can bear the weight of the valance.

After installing the curtain and the valence, iron both with a steamer’s help; ironing them will ensure no wrinkles and a more aesthetic and clean look.
